Winter Operation and Extreme Weather: How to Protect Your Enclosure from Snow and Even Sunscreen

Winter months and snowfall

• Move with care: If movement is necessary, handle the segments with the greatest care in winter. Protruding ice can damage the surface as the individual sections slide beneath one another.
• Remove snow gently: Remove snow regularly, but never scrape right down to the panel. Do not use car ice scrapers, metal tools or other sharp objects that could scratch the panels.
• Correct winter storage: If you cannot remove snow regularly, slide all the segments inside one another – ideally completely behind the pool. Secure them firmly against movement and carefully maintain safe spacing between them.
• Safety first: Keep the structure closed and secured with its locking points throughout winter. If snow is lying on the enclosure, entering the area beneath it is strictly prohibited.

Strong winds and summer storms

• Risk of lightning: Swimming and remaining beneath the enclosure or in its immediate vicinity are strictly prohibited during a thunderstorm.
• Secure the structure: In strong winds, the enclosure must always be fully closed and securely locked. It is not safe to remain beneath it.

Protecting polycarbonate from cosmetics and chemicals

• Beware of sunscreen: Polycarbonate panels are not compatible with ordinary sunscreens or moisturising creams. Contact with these substances causes irreversible degradation and gradual cracking of the material.
• Aggressive chemicals: Never use cleaning products containing volatile substances or solvents such as acetone, toluene, benzene or their derivatives.
• No additional loads: An enclosure is not a drying rack. Do not hang towels or other objects from the structure and do not make any mechanical alterations to it.
